Overview and Tour of San Jacinto College’s New LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy, and Technology

Pasadena Citizen’s Advisory Council (PCAC) members and guests were treated to a tour of the new LyondellBasell Center for Petrochemical, Energy and Technology (CPET) at San Jacinto College’s Central Campus conducted by Jeff Pearce, Tom Strang and Joseph Zwiercan. Attendees were taken on a tour of the facility where they visited areas devoted to process operations, instrumentation, electrical, nondestructive testing and craft trades.

San Jacinto College has served as the training leader for the petrochemical, energy, and technology workforce in the greater Houston area for more than 50 years. The CPET expands their ability to develop and train the industry’s current and future workforce. The facility and its curriculum were developed from an advisory council of leaders in the petrochemical industry and plant managers. Please visit CPET’s website for further details on the programs that they offer, including a downloadable brochure that describes programs and provides basic information. The facility overview describes the features of the building and lists all the classrooms and labs, any industry partner for each and the program they serve. The “Images and Videos” tab shows all of the labs. https://www.sanjac.edu/CPET-facilities
