**CANCELED ** January 27, 2026 – Natural Disaster Planning in PCAC Plants
With recent years bringing flooding, freezes, a tornado, a derecho, a hurricane – and associated power outages – to Pasadena, PCAC has asked two plants to describe how plants typically prepare for all kinds of natural disasters. The speaker(s) will discuss:
- Roles and responsibilities, phases of preparation, what happens during the event, and recovery.
- How they assist employees who serve on ride-out crews (and their families) and how they help workers and their families with recovery.
- What plants do to help the community in the aftermath of natural disasters, and where the resources to do so come from.
- David Wade, Operations Supervisor Industrial Liaison for Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HCOHSEM), will explain how HCOHSEM assists industry during a natural disaster.
- Azell Carter will address how the city coordinates with industry and Harris County to provide information and services.
